Our organization

Transparency International (TI) is the world’s leading civil society movement dedicated to ending corruption and promoting integrity. Founded in Berlin in 1993, TI now works through more than 100 national chapters and its International Secretariat in Berlin to turn one vision into reality: a world free of corruption.

TI focuses on issues that most affect people’s lives, holding the powerful to account for the common good. Through advocacy, campaigns, and research, TI exposes the systems that enable corruption and demands greater transparency and integrity across public life. One of its most influential tools is the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), a globally recognized benchmark used by governments, businesses, and the media.

Transparency International Mongolia was established in 2003 with the same vision and commitment. For over two decades, TI Mongolia has worked to raise awareness, strengthen accountability, and empower citizens to demand transparent and accountable governance.

In the 2024 CPI, Mongolia scored 33 out of 100, indicating a relatively high level of perceived public sector corruption. This score placed Mongolia 114th out of 180 countries, below the global average of 43. Since 2012, Mongolia’s scores have ranged from a high of 39 (2014) to a low of 33 in recent years. The CPI reflects perceptions of administrative and political corruption based on surveys and expert assessments, scored from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).
